The children of Nursery, Reception, Year one and Year two led our service with words, music and dancing.
Everyone sang the song 'Thank you for the sunshine'
Year 2 sang 'The Healthy Habonera'
Year 1 really enjoyed singing
'Big Red Combine Harvester'
*
Nursery and Reception sang 'Gather up a box of Plums '
Year 2 acted out 'The Parable of the sower'
We watched Year 1 tell us about what was 'In my trolley'
Reverend Mark Kinder brought in a parsnip he had grown and told us about how we can share our harvest. Not only our fruit and vegetables but also our time, talent and abilities for the benefit of everyone.
Every harvest shared can grow into a pleasant and fullfilled community.
Year 2 shared a song with us called 'Everywhere around us'
*
'Seeds' a poem by Year 1
Our School Captains led the closing prayers followed by the Harvest hymn 'Give thanks'
As usual the children and their families donated lots of fresh fruit and vegetables for distribution to local senior citizens.
As well as dry and tinned goods which will be donated
to St.Paul’s Church for its community project ‘Highs and Lows’ and The Glebe Centre which provides
meals and refreshments for people in Walsall
who are currently facing difficulties in their lives.
